Origami TUESDAY CLUB Workshop

  • SUPeR bookstore 31C Blågårdsgade København, , 2200 Denmark (map)

Curious about origami but never tried it before? Come explore how folding can inspire creativity, mindfulness, and more sustainable ways of thinking in everyday life.

About the Club

The club has a total of 4 sessions, 2 hours for each. Through four sessions, you will learn the fundamental language of origami, explore some helpful techniques, and learn to use tools, which make the folding process easier and more enjoyable. By the end of the club, you’ll gain the confidence to continue exploring origami on your own.

What to expect?

Each session is structured to guide you from fundamentals to creative exploration. You will learn at least 3 origami folds per session, including basic tessellations or creature forms, progressing in complexity over time. You can combine your own folded pieces—transforming them into decorative objects, scenes or giving them entirely new purposes.

We place strong emphasis on basic folds—the key to unlocking creativity. Together, we’ll explore:

  • How fundamental folds shape structure and pattern

  • The fascinating spatial effects and optical illusions that emerge through folding

We’ll also open up discussions:

  • What can each basic folds become?

  • Can it turn into a container, a sculpture, a vase, a lantern or other functional object?

Origami x Recycle

In this club, we will also test with how origami can reuse materials and transform discarded materials into something meaningful again. Old paper—unused printed sheets, maps, posters, or scrap materials—can be folded into small objects with new purposes: decorations, containers, or miniature artworks. During the club, we’ll also use leftover risograph paper offered by theprinthouse. The dynamic colors and patterns make each fold unique.

Come and enjoy, and discover how a simple sheet of paper can become something unexpectedly complex—and uniquely yours. The club does not require any prior experience to join. It is less about perfection and more about exploration and creativity, and everyone can follow at their own pace.

Materials and tools are provided.
