Tracing the Everyday Drawing Objects - Line, Tone & Composition workshop

This hands-on drawing workshop invites you to slow down and observe everyday objects through guided drawing exercises. We’ll focus on line, tone, and composition, learning how to see form, proportion, and light in simple subjects while building confidence in drawing.Through a mix of structured practices and open exploration, participants will experiment with shading techniques and compositional choices using pencil and ink.

The workshop emphasizes play, curiosity, and accessibility, making it suitable for beginners as well as those with some drawing experience. You will take home one or more finished drawings and will will learn/practice:

how to observe and translate form, tone, and texture into line drawings

basic shading techniques using pencil and ink

how to create balanced and engaging compositions

Patricia Baranyai (@triss_draws) is a visual artist working mainly with ballpoint pen and ink. Her practice focuses on semi-realistic storytelling, everyday narratives, and personal observations of her surroundings through drawing, painting, printmaking, and photography.
