“If you have a love for handmade things and you’d like to learn how to make your very own little nisse (as these gnomes are known in Denmark) — join me for the cosiest creative afternoon!
Using needle and thread, we’ll transform preloved fabrics into beautiful festive decorations!
It’s probably not the first time you hear how big the environmental impact of the fashion and textile industries is, or that it’s estimated there’s currently enough clothes in the world to clothe the next 6 generations. Early on my sewing and crafting journey this felt very limiting, as I didn’t want to be part of the problem.
But limitations also drive creativity: What if that top you no longer wear can become a headband? What if you check the fabric section of your closest thrift store instead of buying brand new materials?
In this 3-hour workshop we’ll enjoy the fulfilment of creating with our hands through upcycling, while embracing the cozyness of the festive season - minus the overconsumption it’s associated with. Basic sewing knowledge can be helpful but isn’t required — I’ll guide you through each step of making these cute hanging ornaments! Winter gnomes are perfect to decorate your space for winter, or to give as a special gift to your loved ones.
Can’t wait to create together!”
