first Wednesday of every month w. Ruxy and Ela
Considering our relations with/in nature.
Wednesday November 6, 18:30-20:00
Come hear Nadja Gaudillière-Jami on 'dull ecosystems' and join our informal conversation:
last month our summerhouse basement flooded. i went to check it out. i walked around in the drab fog and mud of the countryside autumn i've seen so many times before.
threatened with the disappearance of that world, i suddenly felt like photographing every single puddle i came across.
when i came home i wrote a story for my mom on how to save the summerhouse from the flood.
how do we summon care for the dulled surroundings of daily life? what forms of material and imaginary conversations with the environment can help negotiate our responsibility towards all ecosystems?
In this informal discussion of three narratives (for a child, a grown-up and a scientific community) about the same place, Nadja uses intended and accidental morals that hide in stories to explore a variety of formats and lessons for our engagement with the environment. Feel free to share your stories.
Nadja trained as an architect and now researches digital and environmental practices in architecture at the Royal Danish Academy; she writes and illustrates stories for kids and their parents in her spare time.
